What is Considered OOG in NY?
OOG cargo is freight that exceeds the height and width of marine containers. Your cargo will require a permit if it exceeds any of the below measurements in NY.
- Width: cargo above 8’6” in width will require oversized permits.
- Height: cargo above 13’6″ in New York will require a permit.
- Weight: cargo above 44,000 lbs. will require a permit if it’s a non-divisible load (your cargo cannot be cannot be reduced in size or weight without destroying its intended use).
How Much Does OOG Drayage Cost?
Three main factors influence your OOG drayage cost:
- The distance from the port of unlading to your delivery location.
- Cargo size. Permits will be required if your cargo is considered oversized and overweight.
- Special equipment requirements such as lowboy or step-deck flat beds.
You will also need to pay flip/swing fees to the terminal for handling your cargo to and from the vessel.
