Exporting strawberries from the U.S. can be done via two shipping methods. Air freight o transporte marítimo.

Choosing Air or Ocean Freight Shipping

Ocean freight offers lower shipping costs for frozen or fresh cargo due to slower transit times. We can load strawberries and other temperature-sensitive cargo into refrigerated containers, maintaining product integrity through temperature-monitoring technology. Air freight is more expensive because you’re paying a premium price for a faster transit time.

The Downside to Ocean Freight Shipping

Refrigerated container exports can only be handled from certain seaports and inland rail terminals in the U.S. If you’re located far away from a seaport, you will need to ship the strawberries to the coast in a refrigerated trailer to load and stuff the cargo at a local warehouse. A drayage carrier will then deliver the refrigerated container to the port of export.

Why Ship using Air Freight

Air freight shipping allows your strawberries and other temperature-sensitive cargo to reach their destination faster than ocean shipping. Your local airport can be used in the first leg of your cargo’s journey to the destination.
